I have spent a lot of my life-living life based on someone else's thoughts-feelings-emotions etc... There was always that BUT-that AWKWARDNESS; you look in the mirror and see this fake imitation of someone else staring back at you. It's hard to express yourself-to be yourself- Wait a Minute!!! Who is YOURSELF? It's hard to figure out or even know who you want to be, and establish how you want to get there-when you've been traveling someone else's road in life.
The road to the Real ME was long and hard, but I got there-because I wasn't willing to give up. I was ready to get rid of things that were in no way who I was, I didn't want to be associated with things that didn't rep ME. It's easy to adapt and latch on to other peoples ways, and actually become an extension of them or another version of them in a sense. But, think about this- why do we need to be an extension of anyone else, when GOD made us each individually special-with our own characteristics for our own special purpose.
I encourage everyone to find themselves, be themselves, and live for themselves. It's okay to look up to someone, admire someone, mentor someone- but it needs to be understood that we will never be that person, we will only be ourselves. Learn to love you, and travel your own road-the way God intended, you can't get where you want to be-traveling someone else's road, and doing everything they did- it's not meant for 2 people to get to the same destination- the same way-(Everyone's path is traveled different, though it may have similarities it is very different). My road-my journey-God's intended way- for ME
